This was the best two-parter I have ever seen. It’s
been non-stop thrill with non-stop action and non-stop edge-of-my-seat fun. Quentin Tarantino as usual outdid himself as the
shady character Cole. Sydney and Vaughn got some great scenes as they were finally doing some spy work together. Jack also
did some heroic work by turning himself in to save his daughter. Like usual, there’s a lot to talk about. Start saying something new.
Quentin Tarantino beautifully played McKenas Cole. His scenes
with Jennifer Garner were excellent. Cole recounted the time when he first met Sydney. He never caught her name, but he did remember to call her “pig tails.” He remembers
asking her out and saying something inappropriate because Sydney threatened to break his
kneecaps. I can picture that. Tarantino really got into the skin of his character and the performance was excellent. In the
“conversation room,” Cole’s scenes with Sloane were intense. Sloane, on the verge of dying, accused Cole
of abandoning his men on the battlefield. Sloane then pokes fun at Cole by assuming that he had been broken by the Russians.
He was a cry baby. He then killed that innocent undercover SIS agent out of rage. Sloane had gotten to him and it was a great
thing to see.
We finally saw Vaughn out in the field. He was really good.
When taking out the crystal from the bomb, he was freaking out. My hands are not steady. I would have triggered the alarm
in a second. He was smart when he got the driver of the van to step out of the car. He disarmed him and then shot him. I think
it was the first time in a while that Vaughn had to kill someone. You really saw his facial expression change in a split second.
Is he qualified to be out in the field? Sydney and Vaughn together were a great team. She’s still expecting to go to
a hockey game with him, but he convinced her to stay an active agent. Good for him!
Jack really put himself on the line to save his daughter.
He got through those vents in a hurry. He really does love her and he understands
the complexities of being a double agent. He panicked when he saw his daughter stuck in the vents. He rushed to save her.
Sydney later did the same when Cole was threatening to kill Jack. She didn’t
even hesitate to surrender. She was ready to sacrifice the lives of all those people in the office for her father. She’s
finally grown to love him.

Quotable Quotes
-
Dixon: “These are not normal conditions.”
-
Sloane: “And you led them to slaughter.”
Cole was the head of that operation? He sacrificed the lives of all those men for one person.
-
Will: “Being a reporter sucks. Can I
just say that?” Sure you can.
-
Cole: “Who is more tough-assed than
you?” Then he ends up killing Toni, the British spy.
-
Sydney: “Does anyone ever learn anything in seminars?”
-
Sydney: “I memorized the lock grid.” Excuse us.
-
Sydney (to Cole when he tells her about their
first encounter): “I can see not wanting to kiss you.”
-
Sloane: “This has changed everything.”
It sure has.
-
Marshall: “Sloane gave me the finger.”
-
Sydney: “It better be some good perfume.”
Some Final Notes
-
There was a mention of Rambaldi. Cole was
looking of an ampoule that had Rambaldi’s signal on it.
-
Weiss really threatened Haladki. Haladki’s
a jerk. Vaughn could have gotten killed. I liked how Weiss took immediate action.
-
Jack caught off Sloane’s finger to deactivate
the failsafe. Even Jack let out a sigh of relief.
-
Sydney and Cole had two great fights. Pleasure
to watch.
