Mea Culpa
Episode 1.9

This was exciting. My heart was pounding throughout the whole episode. Sloane is sure now that Sydney is the mole. Can Jack save her again? I hope so. Dixon was shot and he’s close to dying. I like Dixon. That scene in the park was too intense for me. I thought I almost had a heart attack. That line is getting old. I think I need a new line. On second though, not yet.

I was absolutely hooked this week. Every second was captivating. The writers truly expressed the importance of Sloane’s evil nature. So he knew Sydney before her arrival at SD-6. Her father was Sloane’s close friend. Sloane even attended Laura and Jack’s wedding. I have to admit something. He really has a cold heart. That scene in his SD-6 office with Sydney was breath-taking. Ron Rifkin is a terrific actor who can truly depict the personality of a monster. When he was drinking water from his pitcher, I felt a real disgust. They want you to hate him. Don’t hate the actor. I love the actor. We could see Sydney’s desire to pounce on her boss. When he mentioned Danny, he went too far. I felt like jumping into my tv screen and punching him. Meanwhile, Sloane almost tricked the CIA. People should always listen to Jack. I cannot understand how Jack remained indifferent throughout the course of those two or three minutes. I was on the floor freaking out. But, he was right again. He knew Sloane was bluffing and so he made the CIA stand their ground. In doing so, Sydney was cleared from any suspicion. That guy Dreyer is on her case and Jack better find some way to save Sydney. It’s also the CIA’s fault. That was sloppy work. How could they have allowed their transmission to be noticed? Ridiculous. They’re the good guys, remember?

Will is really getting close to SD-6. I cannot understand why he goes around telling people his findings. He had no right to involve that tech guy. This technician is now practically in the middle of the story. He knows all the facts and Will has ignorantly gotten him involved. When Will was speaking into the bug in the bathroom stall, I had a sense of disbelief. How far is he willing to go? When his cell phone rang, I jumped out of my seat. He’s ready to meet this man who called him on the payphone. I’m worried. I find the story’s getting very compelling and I’m glad we’ve got even more suspense. This is getting really good.

Syd’s Tips

Quotable Quotes

-          Dixon: “Freelancer?” Dixon heard the code name Freelancer. This is exciting.

-          Sydney: “He’s gonna be ok.” I hope.

-          Sloane: “I’ll take care of Bristow.” That’s what I’m afraid of.

-          Francie: “Can you not be  a reporter for two minutes?” Seriously. You’d think he was cross-examining her. Relax.

-          Francie: “Leave her alone or I’ll kick your ass and I’m not kidding.” I love Francie.

-          Sloane: “I begged security section to not take that action.” Yeah right. Were you on your hands and knees as well?

-          Jack: “I know how Sloane works. He's bluffing.”

-          Sydney: “Can you tell me where the bathroom is?” That trick always works.

-          Weiss: “Oy. I just lost thirty pounds. I’m not kidding.”

Some Final Notes

-          I felt bad for Francie. She was so psyched about visiting that wedding shop. She’s such a good friend for forgiving Sydney.

-          Dixon’s wife has no idea what the truth is.

-          Every time I see a parking garage on Alias, I panic. Something bad always happens.

-          We got some great locales this week and some stunning aliases. I love Jen.

-          I’m a geek.

Another great episode. 4 stars
