Why did I have a feeling this was going to happen? Well,
to tell you the truth, I like it better this way. Irina as a big-time baddie is surely going to be interesting. This season
is just on a roll. Can I say how sexy Irina really is? For an older woman (she’s going to kill me), she is still stunning.
I’m glad the writers gave Lena Olin and Victor Garber
the chance to shine rather than Jennifer all the time. It was refreshing to see Irina escape from her ex-husband’s grasp
one more time. And you know Jack’s going to kill himself for letting her escape. Why I don’t get is how he didn’t
see this coming? Now I know he’s a man, and Irina seducing him…well…we’ll just say he couldn’t
resist her. Hey, every man would fall for her.
These two are kick-ass together in the field. Irina was destined
to be a good guy for the CIA. Sydney has her mother’s fire and daringness in the field. “I like games,” she says. She really does.
So everything with Jack was a game? Did she really have feelings for him when she slept with him? Does she still love him?
This is what’s great about Irina. She’s ruthless. You can never tell what she’s thinking. You never know
her intentions. Why did she turn herself in the first place? What did she get out of her stay in the CIA cell? It seems this
whole thing with Sloane was pre-planned. Had he contacted her before he took down SD-6? Ughh…I love this show.
Everything prior to the mission felt like Irina was leaving.
I have to give five stars just for the scene between her and Sydney in the prison cell. What a great scene. Sydney should have caught on that something was up, but I guess when she’s hearing her mother apologize for being
a bad mother, you don’t think clearly. I think Syd really lost it when she joined hands with her mother on the glass
wall. That was such a beautiful moment. It honestly felt real, like Irina finally honed up to all the atrocities she had committed
against her family. It worked too.
I enjoyed the Sydney/Vaughn thing this week. Naturally, Vaughn
would be investigating Sydney’s mother. I don’t blame him. To work with the woman who killed
his father and to be going out with her daughter…ouff. That’s not an easy task. Sydney didn’t take it badly. Why couldn’t he just tell her? She is very understanding not to mention that she
offered talking about it at the hockey rink. Sydney has offered Vaughn many chances to open up. It’s time he does so.
Is it me or does their relationship feel very superficial?
I just don’t feel like Sydney and Vaughn are really going out. There’s some sex here and there, but they don’t
talk to each other. I guess that will change as the relationship grows. I really liked the hockey rink scenes. Vaughn was
a bit of a show off. It’s ok. I can’t even play hockey. I want more
scenes of them being a couple.
When did Evil Francie go all Hypnotizing Francie? She’s
definitely using her relationship with Will to Sloane’s advantage. Will’s opening scene with her felt very real.
I thought he had lost his mind and decided to tell Francie the whole story. I don’t
even know what to call her. This is going to be a bad thing for Syd. As Will becomes more and more involved with the CIA,
what else will Francie figure out?
So we’re heading towards another Rambaldi artifact.
How could we not? This new one seems interesting. Irina said the manuscript had something to do with a human heart and that
Rambaldi had become obsessed with immortality. How does this manuscript relate to this giant puzzle? I’m dying to know.
Syd’s Tips
-
Always trust the people you love. Don’t
ever act before thinking. If a loved one is suspected of anything, confront them first. Secrets are not a good thing to have
in a relationship.

Quotable Quotes
-
Kendall: “Your ex-wife…”
Jack: “I’d
appreciate it if you’d refer to Irina Derevko by name.”
-
Jack (to
Irina): “Sydney can be stubborn. Where she got that from is anyone’s guess.” Loved
this one.
-
Vaughn: “Don’t ever be sorry for
her.”
-
Sydney: “I have to go in.”
Vaughn: “Of
course you do. It’s you day off.”
-
Yeager: “Are you and Mr. Vaughn intimate?”
-
Jack: “If she lies to me again, I’ll
know it.” Well, you didn’t Jack.
-
Marshall (to Irina): “Wow. You’re
tough.”
-
Evil Francie: “All you will remember
is that tonight, you had the best sex of your life.”
-
Irina: “Thank you for extracting me.”
Bitch.
Some Final Notes
-
That elevator scene was scary. I would die
of a heart attack before it would have crashed.
-
Irina still wanted Jack to quit the CIA. She
ain’t leaving now mommy.
-
The agent, Mitchell Yeager, was just annoying.
I hated his constant questions on the couple’s intimacy.
-
I liked how Weiss and Sydney were ready to
break the law to help Vaughn.
-
Marshall was hysterical when he told Irina that Sydney was a
good person. He was in awe with her.
-
I liked how Weiss commented on how he’s
only a conduit to Vaughn.
-
Irina was awesome when she killed all the
men in Bangkok.
-
I laughed when the two boyfriends were talking
in the kitchen. Vaughn seemed embarrassed. Nice moment.
-
Vaughn was going to give Sydney a key to his apartment. Uh-oh.
-
It’s Francie’s fault that Irina
got away.
-
In the last scene, Jack just walked off alone.
This really hurt him.
Excellent. 4 stars? Higher?
