As one goes into the woods to find her true love, another
one comes out and is exposed. I didn’t find this episode as good as the past few, but…I just don’t know
where this season is going. How is it going to end? I really loved it I just don’t know where they’re going without
the season-long mystery.
So Lynette’s flirting nights were finally exposed.
It was at one, overdramatic, and two, too soapy for my liking. Tom went all jealous husband on Rick, threatening him and telling
him that Lynette will never betray her family. Okay, give yourself a break. I just
didn’t like his whole monologue saying he’ll be there for her when she comes home devastated, having betrayed
her family. Who is he to say such a thing after he’s put her through so much? Lynette has always been forgiving.
I thought her breakdown in the restaurant was very real.
It felt genuine. That was so Lynette and true to character. She needed these nights and now she won’t be getting them
anymore. And I get it. The same thing happened in the first season when she was on the verge of suicide. This time though,
she lost something that she kept closed to her very dearly: her dinners. Tom is just insensitive. My heart sank when I saw
her turn on the shower to cry. I felt like crying. This is definitely an Emmy episode.
As for Edie, I don’t know what to make out of her.
Is she that desperate that she was willing to use her son to stay with Carlos? I thought Edie was confident. I thought she
didn’t need a man to define her. Now, she’s just holding on to this relationship with Carlos for as long as she
can. I don’t find that’s the Edie I’ve grown to love. But I would have liked the little guy to stick around
more? Carlos would have also wanted Travers there. Did he really mean what he said? Is he planning on staying with Edie? I think Travers was the only reason he was sticking around. Maybe he can just marry
her.
Was I the only one who really hated Gabrielle? Why was she
going on her little power trip? That was slightly over-excessive. I was in tears though when she kicked the cop. That was
hysterical. I definitely hate people who abuse their power. I do not like low-lives who have no compassion and count down
the time until the meter is up. I don’t hate all parking meter officials, just
this one and people like him.
Victor Lang really got to me. Yeah, he’s the new mayor
of Fairview and
he’s already loving his new job. But I thought sending his thugs to beat the parking meter guy up a bit excessive. He
should not have bruised Gabrielle, but she was asking for it. He should have been fired, and not beat up. It could have compromised
his reputation. I think his speech to Gabby was necessary. I would have enjoyed that leap on his back, but abusing the power
is another thing.
We only got the comedic relief this week from Susan who was
just amazingly funny. I love watching her act like a klutz. Yeah, I was a bit bothered with her drama. The tour guide Tony
was right. She is overly dramatic and she always does need to stir up some kind of trouble. But Mike finally found her and
blah, blah, they’re back together. How exactly did he find her though? Oh yeah, this is television.
Desperate Moments
This week’s moment
goes to Lynette throwing a plate on the floor and having a breakdown in the restaurant. She had to fire Rick in order to keep
her marriage alive. She later goes into her bathroom and starts crying.
More moments: Edie wanting
to use Travers to get joint custody, Susan running off from Tony to find Mike alone, Carlos promising Edie to stay with her,
Gabrielle fighting with the parking meter guy…
The Neighborhood Watch by Katey Price
I ran into Julie at the
supermarket today and she told me that she was staying home alone because supposedly, Susan went to find Mike. This woman
is just plain crazy and I am not kidding. She’s planning on going all alone up the mountain where he’s staying.
What love does to women!
I also heard that Edie’s
ex-husband is in town. He came to come pick Travers up. I feel bad for the poor girl. I think Carlos has really changed her
opinion about being more involved in her son’s life. There were talks that she was going to file for joint custody but
I can’t believe how that could work; Travers would have two school, two sets of friends, two homes. It’s not fair
for a little guy.
Oh and Victor Lang is our
new mayor. Let’s just hope that he’s better than the guy before. Fairview hopefully
will be going somewhere now.
Quotable Quotes
-
Vern: “Yeah, but isn't it bad luck to buy a dress for a victory party before
the election?”
Gabrielle: “Vern, focus. It's never bad luck
when I look fabulous.”
-
Vern: “He’s fine with you being
high-maintenance?”
Gabrielle: “That’s
the best part. He lets me act like me.”
-
Carlos: “You know what they say, ‘bros
before hoes.’” They do?
-
Tony: “You know, bugs can’t get
in if you keep your mouth shut.” These things only happen to Susan.
-
Tony: “So you’re in the middle
of the forest and you’re ready to put bear food on your face?”
-
Tony: “You don’t know how to just
be happy.” Tony had a lot of things to say.
-
Susan: “I don’t want anymore drama.
Unless I get eaten by a mountain lion then that would be dramatic. It wouldn’t be my fault.”
Some Final Notes
-
Those two robbers were kind of crazy. How
do you lock two people in a freezer? How much was stolen?
-
I love Gabrielle’s friend Vern. These
two together are hysterical.
-
What’s going to happen to Travers’
dog?
-
I laughed when the campaign manager’s
wife tells Gabrielle that she’s queen now. I knew a light would flash in her head.
-
Tom and Rick’s scene at the restaurant
was way too dark. I was scared.
-
Susan didn’t shut up about her whole
life to Tony.
-
Tony called her a “drama junkie.”
-
It’s funny how Mike knew exactly who
the park officials were talking about when they mentioned “a klutz.”
-
Why does Victor have all these goons?
This one was okay. 2 ½ stars?
