I knew that anything they were going to throw at us this
week was going to be a letdown from last week. But the episode wasn’t even good. They had so much room to do anything
they wanted with Sloan’s arrival to Seattle Grace. But they didn’t do a damn thing with it. And the ending seconds
drove me crazy. I’m pissed.
Mark Sloan’s arrival to the hospital should have stirred
up a bit more buzz than what it actually has. I’m guessing the problem is that people are still talking about the Super
Bowl episode, but what can you do? I like that fact that he’s been given his own nickname “McSteamy.” It
sounds dirtier which is exactly what Mark is. He’s the evil McDreamy is a way. But his character was too cliché. He
makes his mark as the other dirty mistress, making himself seem too badass. Am I wrong?
It seems odd to me that he would be Shepherd’s best friend. And doesn’t he seem not good enough to be with Addison? Why would she go for him? I also had a problem with the way he had to hit
on Meredith the second he came into the hospital. Does she attract every guy who lays eyes on her? Sorry, I’m going on a rampage.
Izzie’s calming of the beast went beyond calming the
beast; it became sacrificing to the beast. As in sacrificing her dignity. I don’t know what it is, but lately, all she
can think about is sex. She’s becoming more and more of a slut. I don’t like that. I used to think that Izzie
had some sort of class. For one, she decides on going to bed with Alex who’s the biggest ass we’ve all ever seen.
Maybe surpassed by McSteamy. Maybe. He’s an opportunist who is willing to
betray anyone to meet his selfish demands. He started out doing some major ass-kissing to Sloan. Karev also tells Sloan about
Jake Birsten. His skin was horrible and Sloan had the answer to the kid’s problems. I only wish he could have lived
to see his face.
I’m also getting tired of George complaining about
Meredith. You want her to notice you so then do something worth noticing. Now it seems like he’s going to be in some
bad trouble. I don’t think this new fling with Meredith is going to last. It looked like a disaster the minute she took
off his shirt. I see something bad. But George won’t have unlimited chances.
He should get a hint that if she’s not noticing him then there’s probably no reason to keep trying. Besides, he
knows she’s vulnerable and he knows she’s had a lot going on. Why would he try and take advantage of her now?
It just doesn’t seem right.
Now, Meredith can be a bit more sensitive and just act like
she mildly cares for George. He asked her out for a drink and all she talks about are her problems. You know what Meredith,
you’re not the only one with problems. It’s time someone told her that. This thing with McDreamy cannot last forever.
She’s going to have to pick up and move on at some point. Now, she’s probably going to make matters worth with
George. I am seriously pissed. Seriously.
If there’s one element of the show I liked was the
effect Mark’s arrival had on Addison. She is just a fascinating character. Kate Walsh is an exceptional actress
and I’m glad she’s part of the show. The last scene with Derek lying down on his bed and Kate sitting at the dinner
table was perfect. It’s these little moments that make a big difference. Too bad there weren’t enough this week.
Dear Diary
Izzie: I haven’t
stopped calming the beast. It’s just that sex with Alex has been fantastic. The beast is awake and it just needs to
be fed. Am I saying this wrong? I told myself that the four times I had sex with Alex were going to be the last. And clearly
I meant it when I said it to myself. It’s just that when I look at him, I have to feed the beast again and again. It’s
just too bad that George isn’t having the same luck with Meredith. He so loves her and Meredith can’t even notice
it. Is it just me or is that girl a bit self-centered? George has had a thing for her for like ever. I just wish she could
have the decency to notice him once or twice. Oh and the other dirty mistress came to the hospital: McSteamy. That’s
Mark Sloan, the guy Addison cheated on Shepherd with. This story can’t get more complicated.
Cristina: So he called
me a slob. I was eating my Chinese food on the bed with my clothes everywhere in the room, and he called me a slob. I am a
slob. I get it. But he really loves me. He just kept babbling on about my less desirable qualities; I’m disrespectful,
competition, a slob, and mean. And he still loves me. So I sold my apartment. I’m moving in with him full-time. It’s
the best thing to do. It’s the only thing I can do. He loves me and I love him. I’ve moved in. It’s done.
Today’s Baileyisms
Bailey was on mother duty.
She’s pretty quiet so far.
Quotable Quotes
- Ellis Grey: “I was going at it all night in the On-Call
room, what’s your excuse?”
Meredith: Mom!
Ellis Grey: “That man makes me purr like a kitten.”
Meredith: Mom!!
Ellis Grey: “When he’s not making me growl like a tiger.”
- Cristina: “You know, he’s acting like I committed
a crime. Like my apartment is full of stolen goods. He’s acting like I kept my apartment to hide stolen good so I could
do illegal transplants for money.”
Meredith: “Are you sure he’s not just acting like you lied to him about moving in?”
Cristina: “What the hell’s wrong with you?”
Meredith: “My mommy’s a filthy whore.” We all have our problems.
- George: “How do I look today? Would you say that
I look nice?”
Izzie:
“Well, you could use a little more lip gloss but yes, you’re very pretty.”
- Mark: “Derek and I always did have the same
taste in women.”
Meredith: “Excuse me?”
Mark:
“You’re Derek’s lusty intern, right? I’ve heard about you all the way back in New York. You’re
famous.”
Meredith: “Well, I heard about you all the way here in Seattle, so I guess we have a lot in common.”
Mark:
“We’re the dirty mistresses.” I guess you are.
- George: “Why is he suturing his own face?”
Cristina: “To turn me on.”
- Izzie: “You know when you don’t have sex
for a while you sort of forget how good it is and you don’t really need it as much?”
George:
“Yeah that doesn’t happen to guys.” No it doesn’t.
- Cristina: “I don’t get what McDreamy and
McSteamy see in her.”
Alex:
“She’s McHot!”
George:
“McYeah she is!”
- Addison: “I haven’t seen you all day.”
Derek:
“I didn’t want to see you today.” Why is he so mean?
Some Final Notes
- I loved watching Cristina and Burke dancing in
the house. Nice moment.
- Burke answered Cristina’s phone and spoke
to her landlord. Don’t worry, she sold the apartment right away.
- Ellis kept talking about her affair with Webber.
She says she purrs like a kitten around him. Meredith is shocked.
- So we meet Thatcher Grey who seems to be a very
weird person. Honestly, I’m glad he’s out of her life.
- Chuck Eaton’s story was fun. He made a
videotape opening up to all the people who betrayed him. I like how even when he learns he will survive, he still wants the
tapes sent.
- Bailey came with the baby to the hospital. She’s
acting all ‘Nazi’ already telling her interns to go to work and save lies. She even brought him into an OR until
the patient started dying.
- James Birsten was the kid with tumors in his
face. I felt bad for him. He’s never had a real face.
- Derek punches Mark when he sees him talking to
Meredith.
- Mark calls him and Meredith “dirty mistresses.”
- I loved watching Izzie and Cristina stare and
get turned on by McSteamy.
- Pamela Calva was having spontaneous orgasms.
She gets eight per day. At first I thought it was cool, but then they juts became episodes. When I thought of it happening
in church…that’s bad.
- Mark and Addison stayed together after Derek
left.
- Derek says he was an absent husband to Addison.
He doesn’t believe that’s a good enough excuse.
- And Meredith is sleeping with George. Good God.
I didn’t like it. 1 star
