This was the best episode so far and that’s saying
a lot. Finally, we got some real Terry O’Quinn. I never knew he can act so well. His character on Alias was definitely
not as multi-layered as Locke. Excellent acting. The episode as a whole was beautiful. There was nothing I would change about
it. From start to finish, the episode rocked. I loved the memorial service and I especially loved the boar hunting. I’m
not a hunter, but it just looks fun. Between you and me, I would never be able to last
in the jungle without AC and water.
Close-up: Locke. John Locke was the heart and soul of this
week’s episode and it was about time. I kind of had a weird feeling after having watched last week’s final seconds.
The close-up to his face after Walt had found his dog was chilling. I was praying that he wouldn’t turn out to be a
molester. I would have found that a complete waste. I have a tendency to think negatively.
His flashbacks were a complete shock to me. Who would have thought that he was in a wheelchair? Ok, there were some hints,
but the writers handled it well. They gave us enough hints, but not enough to spoil us. This is just great fun. Who was that
woman on the phone? Locke said her name was Helen, but he didn’t have any relationship with her. She seems to charge
89.95 for every hour he’s on the phone with her. What does she do exactly? This woman considers Locke to be a customer.
He even had a therapist. I think he’s had some sort of a complicated past. His scene in the tour guide’s office
was the best yet this season. I had chills when I watched it. Terry O’Quinn is perfect for the role and he delivered.
I really liked the idea of the memorial service. Claire was
perfect for the part, for she knew some of the victims. I liked how she offered Jack the part. He doesn’t seem like
a spiritual man. He’s a man of science. Burning the fuselage was the safest bet. They had to do it. There was no other
way. Those bodies were starting to smell and rot. I liked how Jack stepped up and considered this. Sayid, naturally, opposed
the idea. It’s true. He’s Muslim and I doubt his religion would allow his body to be burned. I like how people
still consider religion to be important. It’s important to see your faith through.
I sound philosophical. I don’t like when I sound philosophical.
Locke, Kate and Michael went hunting in the jungle for wild
boar? Can I ask a question? Why would a father leave his son alone to go hunting? Is Michael on crack or something? I would
never leave my son alone. Anyways, Locke was motivated as ever to catch the boar and I’m glad Kate accompanied him.
She’s trying to do her own thing. Good for her. Besides, she wants to get off that island. Now, I don’t see how
she plans to escape if ever the survivors are found. She’ll find a way for sure. I feel bad for Sayid. He worked so
hard on that transmission thing that now he’s back to the drawing board. Meanwhile, Locke looked straight into the monster.
Why did he lie about it? Why doesn’t he come clean? There’s something about him that I don’t understand.
I hope we get answers to all our questions soon.

Tales from the Island
Locke: They don’t
understand me. When I walked off into the jungle after Michael had been hurt, Kate just stared at me telling me what I can’t
do. I am the only one that can control what I do. I am the only one. This is my destiny. My legs are working again. I want
to take advantage of this. Something on the island gave me back my legs. Why can’t I just do what I want without getting
a long stare? The others see me as a strange man. I also saw what we call a monster. It was beautiful. There’s nothing
scary about it. What lies in it is the truth.

-
Shannon: “The Ocean’s full of fish.”

to break it to you…the Ocean’s not gonna take your gold card.”

tell me what I can’t do.”

Hurley: “Dude,
quit asking me that.”
Charlie: “Sorry.
You said you knew how to fish.”
Hurley: “Yeah,
off the Santa Monica pier with my old man with a fishing pole and bait. I never had to try and poke
one with a sharp stick.” Loved this one.

believe her husband to be alive.
-
Hurley and Claire are getting close.
-
Did Jack really see that man in the trees?
-
Locke saw the monster.
-
John Locke is the name of a philosopher. I
was paying attention in history class.
-
Why would Michael leave Walt with Sun?
-
Forty-seven survivors are left on the island.
