I have to admit that the episode didn’t have as much
pop in it as the usual finales do, but this one had its own charm. I loved it, especially the last act. Oh my god. Beautiful
acting by Kristen Bell as usual and I’m just loving the new romance between Logan and Parker. What an innocent sweet
love. Awww…now I’m making myself want to barf. Nah I’m kidding.
Should I have known that Tim Foyle was the killer? I should
have. As I look back it makes total sense. But once again, this is tv and I’m sure the identity of the killer changes
every episode. Although a bit farfetched, the identity of the murderer made quite a bit of sense. It still doesn’t feel
like someone would kill the dean just to get back at someone. Whatever…if you ignore that, you realize that the episode
was just perfect. I’m not kidding. It had a sweet feel to it. I would have like
a bit more action, but we can’t all get what we want.
Tim Foyle has been a great character for the season. He starts
out as a suck-up T.A. and ends up being our second big mystery’s culprit. I completely forgot that he was originally
cast last year as Lucky, that psycho janitor. Thank God they recast the actor. Great choice. So it turns out that he put a
bug on Landry’s phone and heard about his discussion with that certain someone who was going to hire Foyle. I’m bad with names. But Tim played Veronica. He was a pretty good actor and Veronica fell for the whole
thing.
That scene in the criminology class was just…I’m
speechless…I still am. What a scene. The mounting tension in the room…fantastic. Kristen Bell once again outdid
herself. Disproving Foyle’s innocence in front of the class had me going. I literally thought he was going to strangle
her right then and there. Veronica’s got some major balls to pull something like that in front of a psychopath. Hell, I’d run the other way.
I loved the resolution of the Mindy/Professor Landry story.
Mindy tried skipping town with her husband’s money and Landry tracks her down…and kills her. Little Miss Mindy
tried selling Landry out so she could get the insurance money. I never liked her.
That final shot with her washed out on the beach was dark. Hats off to Patrick Fabian who did a great job with Professor Landry.
His final scene in the beat where he literally melts down was some excellent acting. His affair with Mindy didn’t in
fact end on a good note as he is the one who kills her. That should end a relationship.
I love where this Logan and Parker thing is going. Is it
just me or is Logan acting more human lately? Maybe Veronica wasn’t good for him. Maybe Parker’s better. I don’t know
about you but I love Parker. Like actual love affair. I love the fact that she
was worried to lose her friendship with Veronica. It’s nice to think like that even if I don’t think they really
have a friendship. It’s true. Veronica blowing her off every time they see each other is not a friendship.
I’m fine with the idea that Keith is still in a uniform;
he’s still the freakin’ sheriff! This is so exciting. He’s going to be there at least until the elections.
If he doesn’t win this time, I’m really going to get pissed. He is the only person for the job. He still cares
and he has Veronica as a daughter. She will bring him all the business he needs.
The Dean O’Dell Murder Files
-
Wanting to frame Professor Landry, Tim Foyle
was the murderer. Case Closed.
Quotable Quotes
- Tim: “How would you do it?”
Veronica: "First, I'd break into someone's office, act all weaselly and then ask their advice." Seriously.
- Veronica (voice-over): “Your dad
is acting sheriff and he thinks your favourite teacher might have murdered your favourite dean. Where do you sit in class?”
- Strippers: "Do
we look like we smoke?"
Tim: "Yes.” Loved this one. He’s so clueless.
-
One of the strippers: "She smokes like a big old slutty chimney."
- Veronica: "If you're wondering where
I am, I'm hanging around outside of a convenience store eating corn nuts and watching strippers." Quote of the night.
-
Veronica: "Nice gloves, you heading to the parlor to murder Colonel Mustard after this?"
-
Logan"Guess who went to class today? Me! And
guess what? I learned."
-
Veronica: "My name is Miss Crockett and this is my partner, Mr. Tubbs."
-
Veronica: "We're on a last-name basis now? We skipped over androgynous nicknames?"
- Keith: "You
know I don't like you exposed to all this crime and violence. It's going to warp your mind."
- Veronica: “Or she could have been
a down-on-her-luck alcoholic schoolgirl smuggling cantaloupe in her shirt.” Loved this one.
- Veronica (to Wallace): “I’m just trying to figure out which Gilmore Girl you are.”
Some Final Notes
- I loved watching Veronica try to figure
out where to sit in class.
- I completely forgot that Cyrus was in
Mindy’s room the night of his death. So he was obviously the other man.
- Mindy went to the dean to plead for her
own life. She couldn’t care less for Landry.
- Tim breaking into the PI office was just
ridiculously hysterical. The guy is a complete incompetent.
- I would have never expected Tim to ask
for Veronica’s help.
- Veronica looked like she couldn’t
care less about Logan and Parker. So she’s really ok with this.
- Landry called Tim Foyle a kiss-ass preventing
him from getting a job.
- Toni the stripper showed up and asked
for a cigarette; Landry gave her one. But it turns out her son was in juvi and Landry threatens her telling her he’ll
keep him in there.
- Veronica and Tim called themselves Miss
Crockett and Mr. Tubbs.
- Tim wanted Veronica to be his T.A. I
guess that’s not going to happen now.
Although it wasn’t as intense as the Heart Rapes’ finale, it was still great. 5 stars.
