I wanted more Rambaldi and I got more Rambaldi. An episode
full on Rambaldi that is. Did I like it? Sure I did. Was it enough? Probably. Am I intrigued? Oh, Yeah! Do I buy the whole
mythology? Not yet, but I am enjoying it. I have always been a fan of these types of shows, but the writers have to be careful.
There’s a difference between a sufficient amount and overexposure. For now, I’m enjoying every minute of my favorite
show. Did I just say that? Yes, I did. It’s official. Alias is my favorite
show.
I mentioned this before, and I’ll mention it again.
I don’t completely buy the whole Rambaldi plot. I don’t buy the fact that the government is so invested with “The
Prophecy.” I don’t think the NSA would task a department like the DSR full authority to practically halt the CIA’s
work. I thought that was stretching it a bit. Give me a break! Besides, how is
the NSA completely certain about Rambaldi’s work? I also started getting really irritated by that woman from the DSR.
I was glad that Devlin stood his ground and fought for Sydney. She was pushing the limits. Not only that, but Haladki also sided with her. I would have him
fired immediately. He is out to get Sydney and Vaughn. I thought in the beginning that Haladki might have a grudge against
Vaughn, but now he hates both of them. He’s also on my list. I should start writing
these people down. I never thought Sydney would actually accept to do the tests. It’s out of character. I then
thought about it and looked back at her conversation with Emily. Sydney needed to know
the truth. Why was her picture on a manuscript that was drawn 500 years ago? I would also need to know. I have this dying
wish to see this whole mythology through. The prophecy itself is very interesting:
“This woman here depicted will possess unseen marks, signs that she will be the one to bring forth my works.
Bind them with fury. A burning anger, unless prevented. At vulgar cost, this woman will render the greatest power onto utter
desolation.”
That could mean absolutely
anything. Is that why the government is so worried? What proof do they have that the prophecy will actually come true? Sydney, be careful!
Has “The Man” storyline become the B-plot? Sloane
is as invested in killing Khasinau as possible. He wants him dead. Khasinau infiltrated SD-6 and now he wants revenge. Sloane
tried to sway the vote that was held at the Alliance Headquarters in London. He failed.
How great was it to see Roger Moore as the duplicitous Edward Poole. It’s great to see him on a tv show. Poole
used Sloane and let me tell you, Sloane doesn’t like to be used. He made Sloane kill a good friend for nothing. Furthermore,
Sloane has figured out that page 47 in the Rambaldi book is a counterfeit. He’s starting to suspect Sydney again and that’s the last thing all of us need. At least Jack is still around to save the day. How much longer
can Jack get Sydney out of these messy situations? A bit
longer because we need him.
Amy Irving returned this week as Emily Sloane and it was
a pleasure. Her conversation with Sydney in Sloane’s backyard was excellent. I thought that at one point she knew
about SD-6. Sydney didn’t play it smart. I’m sure Emily’s comment must have
caught her completely by surprise, but she’s still Sloane’s wife. How awkward is that?
Syd’s Tips

When running away from a pack of hungry dogs,
lead them to a cliff and then jump off using your parachute to escape.

Quotable Quotes
-
Vaughn: “The DSR is referring to the
text by name. They’re calling it ‘The Prophecy.’”
-
Sydney: “You move out of the way, or I will make you move out of the way.”
-
Sloane: “I want Khasinau dead.”
Don’t we all?
-
Devlin: “I understand this so-called
prophecy is interesting and that these times require us to be vigilant against any perceived threats to national security,
but let’s take a step back for a second. This is a 500-year-old text, and based on that text, we are treating Agent
Bristow like a lab rat.”
-
Devlin: “We should investigate yes,
but not persecute.” I’m glad he sticks up for Sydney.
-
Jack: “The code key is in the Vatican.” That’s nice.
-
Sloane: “Your daughter needs to re-examine
her priorities.”
Some Final Notes
-
I wonder when the Prophecy is set to come
true.
-
I was right about Donato from “Time
Will Tell.” His death was prophesized on the day Sydney met him. That’s why
he was afraid to open the door.
-
Why did Sydney follow those agents in the club? How did she know they were good?
-
Francie was hysterical this week. She was
going to the basket-ball game and was sitting three rows away from Kobe with Will. She
kept me laughing.
-
It’s great to see Will off the SD-6
story.
-
What is Sloane going to do now that the Alliance has decided to not take any action against Khasinau? Will he kill him himself?
-
I loved how Sydney and Vaughn broke into the
Vatican.
-
Vaughn wanted to go to an Italian restaurant
with Sydney. One day they might.
Another excellent episode.
