Parity
Episode 1.3

This was a really cool episode. I loved the introduction of the witch, Anna Espinosa. I loved the ongoing awkward relationship between Sydney and Jack. I loved the fact Sydney threatened the CIA to reinstate Vaughn. And last but not least, I loved the foreshadowing that Will will soon be involved with the SD-6 drama. We can all see where it’s going, and I’m a bit frightened.

“Anna. It was Anna wasn’t it?” It surely was, Syd. Since I love Anna, we need a few words. She’s a witch. She’s part of K-Directorate, the equivalent to SD-6 in Russia. Sydney said, “[She was] born in Cuba, raised in Russia. One of the last of the Cold War babies. Go to spy for wet work and active measures.” This girl is scary and dangerous. I hope we can get some more fights between Syd and Anna. It sure gets my juices flowing. The fight in the warehouse was excellent. Anna won that one, though. Count on Sydney to want a rematch. We sure want one. What was that symbol on her hand? <O>

Who is Milo Rambaldi? We learn that he was the man who designed the Mueller Device. How is that possible? He died in 1496. He was Pope Alexander V’s chief architect, executed for saying that science would one day allow us to know God. He was a prophet and supposedly, wrote machine codes. He was designing a prototype similar to a cell phone. Crazy. I hope we get to see more of this guy.

What’s up with Jack? Is he so afraid of his daughter that he can’t even tell her the truth? What really happened to Laura Bristow? Did she die because she knew Jack was CIA? Was she somehow involved in the spy life? All these secrets are driving me crazy. Francie was right. Sydney has to start talking and stand her ground. Jack is hiding something and it’s time he comes clean.

-          Sydney: “These questions keep me up at night.”

Jack: “Then take something.” Loved this one.

-          Sydney: “Your work is taking precedence over your education. Now admit it, you’re dropping the ball.” Loved how they flashed to Sydney dropping the nuclear core.

-          Sydney: “You’re not gonna believe this, but there was a blackout at where I was staying.” Sure there was.

-          “We called in our best game theorist.” Jack, obviously.

-          Sloane: “Have you two spoken about her mother?”

Jack: “Yes. She asked about her death.”

Sloane: “Did you tell her the truth?”

What truth?

Some Final Notes

-          Charlie is cheating on Francie? Hate him.

-          Will is going to get in trouble with SD-6. Now he’s looking into the traffic cameras. Stop it!

-          I feel like this Rambaldi thing is not over. I think it barely started.

-          I loved Anna’s kiss on the window.

-          Cliffhanger: Sydney and Anna are staring at the case with the Rambaldi code inside.

I loved the episode. I loved Anna Espinosa and I loved the fight she had with Sydney. Still, it was not groundbreaking. 4 out of 5 stars.
