Time Will Tell
Episode 1.8

Another great story, another great episode. This week’s purpose: learn more on Milo Rambaldi. I am so excited. The writers are really introducing a mythology that up to this point has proven to be complicating and fascinating. I’m hooked, are you? Can you stop before you have a heart attack? Anyways, the Jack scenes were excellent and Sydney has once again begun to suspect her father of being a double agent for the KGB. Powerful stuff! I’m enjoying every moment of it.

The major plot point this week was Rambaldi’s clock/synthetic polymer/clockmaker story. I love this. I’m a big fan of mythologies on tv series. They just make the show so much more enticing to watch. So, the golden sun, when placed with the clock found in Tunisia, will reveal a skyline only visible from an area in Argentina. That’s pushing it a bit, but I loved it. When a show is able to create its own world, it can really be captivating. What was going on with the clockmaker? Was he the real Giovanni Donato? Did Rambaldi give him extended life? He said Giovanni knew when he would die. Is that way he was reluctant to open the door when Sydney knocked? Did he know he was going to die? Now we know what the <O> symbol is. It represents the Magnific Order of Rambaldi. Does that mean that Anna Espinosa is a member? She had that symbol on her hand. Then, Sydney and Dixon found Rambaldi’s journal. I guess we’ll be hearing more of this guy.  This is great. Relax, you’re rambling.

Were all of you freaking when Sydney was taking the lie detector test? She has been identified as the SD-6 mole. I feel scared for our Syd. Will Jack have to bail her out? I really liked how she came to him in the beginning. It shows how Syd is starting to trust her father. He should be trusted, but just when they were getting close and humane towards each other… Sydney has begun to suspect her father again. Leave it to Francie to reveal something Sydney doesn’t want to know. Vaughn started flirting with Sydney when he asked her if she had a love interest. I think he likes Sydney. This relationship is only in its beginner stages. Something is going to happen.

The Eloise Kurtz story escalated to new heights this week. It’s barely over. We find out that she was a SD-6 rookie who was tasked by Jack to lead Will to a dead end. She did the complete opposite. Now, Will looks like an idiot for sourcing the airplane seating in his article. Jack changed the flight manifest. Too damn good. Sloane was the one who terminated Kurtz (Terminated? Why would I say that?). He’s just evil.

Syd’s Tips

-          When entering a room with a security code/key swap system, break it by pouring a liquid on the box.

-          When being chased by your nemesis and her guards, run to the roof and jump off using a bungee cord found in your backpack.

Quotable Quotes

-          Sydney: “How do I look?”

Dixon: “For the record, that’s a question you don’t have to ask anyone.” It’s true.

-          Jack (on Will’s persistence on Danny Hecht’s  case) : “Then I’ll kill him myself.”

Sloane: “He might be a casualty of his own curiosity.” Be scared.

-          Will: “I’m not going to do the story.” Please don’t.

-          Will (on Jack buying Laura gifts): “That’s uncharacteristically sweet of him.”

Sydney: “He actually has a heart, which I’m learning little by little.” Loved this one.

-          Will: “Can I make a suggestion, just for like the eight millionth time? Why don't you just quit your job?” It’s not that easy.

-          Donato: “Only an American would come to my door without telephoning.” Great one.

-          Donato: “He never told me what he meant.” I’m still hung over this one.

-          Dixon: “I’ve worked with a lot of people. You make it look easy.”

Some Final Notes

-          Loved the episode.

-          We got more Anna. Gina Torres is excellent.

-          Will’s boss is tough.

-          Sydney’s paper needed more soul.

-          I loved how Syd ambushed the SD-6 agent. That was fun. She always gets attacked in a garage.

-          SD-6 is sure that Sydney’s the mole.

-          Cliffhanger: Sydney has been kicked off a ladder and is falling into a big cave, while Anna has Rambaldi’s journal.

I loved, loved, loved this episode. We got some insight on the Rambaldi plotline and some great Victor Garber moments. 5 stars
