Liaisons
Episode 3.18

Passion was in the air this week as all our housewives just wanted some passion: Gabby got her groove on in a limo, Edie was able to sleep with Carlos after many painful attempts and Susan rekindled her love with Mike. You know what was finally nice? We finally had a lot of sex in the episode.

Is that wrong to want? I’ve wanted it for such a long time. What is wrong with wanting to see my Eva and Nicolette slightly nude? I can watch a shirtless Gabrielle all day and I’ll be fine. Seriously. The show would be fine just like that. First there was the limo sex. Talk about Victor getting lucky. Then there was the “passionate” and painful lovemaking of Edie and Carlos that had them breaking tables and fridges. Then, we ended with a nice scene with Edie on top of Carlos. We can imagine what happened.

Gabrielle’s storyline is finally becoming interesting. I missed the old I’ll-grab-any-man-I-want woman that used to sleep with John. She totally fell for Victor though. His speech was empowering and she couldn’t help but drag him into his limo. She was obviously disappointed when he didn’t call. I was in tears all during the debate. The best moment is when Gabby grabbed Toby’s hand and shoved it on her butt. I was in tears all the while after. Victor will definitely be calling again.

Did they completely forget about Edie’s stripping last week? Did she go back to the old Edie? Well thank God she did because I have never laughed so much in my life. Worrying over Carlos saying how bad she was in bed really suits Edie. How funny was her explanation to Travers about what “bad in bed” means? I thought she was going to tell him the truth. She says it means she doesn’t know how to make her bed right. Nice explanation. How long is he going to buy it for? For Edie, this is the worst insult anyone can ever give her.

I was in tears during Carlos and Edie’s sex scenes. These are two passionate individuals. They love their sex. There was a message behind this though: great things come when you least expect it. They stopped trying. They didn’t attempt to make a whole show. They slowly fell into each other’s arms. There’s a real connection here. I hope Edie and Carlos see it.

The Susan stuff this week were great. I had to laugh every time she mentioned her cheese. She loves her cheese. That’s a typical Susan move. The writers are doing a great job with her character though. She has been tolerant with Ian. She has endured this unethical quarrel between the two and she senses that it’s time for Ian to move on.

It’s hard for Ian though. He can’t swim and he doesn’t have the abs that can win over a desirable woman. Ian felt emasculated. No kidding he was going to try and relocate to London. Especially now that Mike kissed her, Susan is going to be acting very strange. Ian is definitely going to catch on. Bottomline: they’ve played this love triangle for awhile now and it’s time to make a clear choice. Susan belongs with Mike.

For the first time in a while, I was compelled with Lynette’s story. I’m not kidding. I missed the desperate Lynette. This is what made her character so interesting. I got tired fast with the stupid storyline at her office. Now, she’s on her own again. She has to manage the restaurant as well as the home. It’s a lot for one woman, but as she has proven to us before, Lynette can do anything she sets her mind to…with a little help of course.

Rick is here. The four-star chef is ready to take on an easy and fast job at Tom’s dinky restaurant. He can whip up a calzone in now time and…he’s sorta and kinda liking Lynette. Seriously, could he be looking at her any more? I thought he was ready to propose to her on the spot. Let’s not be too hasty. I love though how Lynette is going behind Tom’s back by hiring him. So far, she hasn’t done anything wrong and Tom is rude to have initially neglected to hire him.

Desperate Moments

This week’s moment goes to Mrs. McCluskey having to hide her dead husband in her freezer. What can possibly be worse? She’s still eating popsicles that come out of that freezer. Why does she still speak to him though? Did she kill him?

More moments: Lynette having to bring her children to work (major disaster), Mike kisses Susan, Ian can’t sleep with Susan, Gabrielle uses her handyman to make Victor jealous, Lynette has to sit at a customer’s table and cry.

The Neighborhood Watch by Katey Price

You won’t believe what I saw happen at Tom Scavo’s restaurant today. Lynette was speaking to a gorgeous man who seems to have been hired as the new chef of the restaurant. I heard through the grape vine though that Tom didn’t want to hire an ex-convict. You heard me. This new guy is an ex-convict. Mrs. McCluskey told me after she overheard something at the Scavo residence. By the way he was looking at her, let me just say, Tom should be careful. He has an eye on Lynette.

Then, at night, I was walking my dog out when I saw Susan run across the street holding some kind of gift bag. Why was she going to Mike’s house at night? Was it maybe because she wanted to kiss him? You heard me. She kissed him. I guess her relationship with Ian isn’t working out as well as she planned.

Quotable Quotes

-          Travers: “So what does it mean to be ‘bad in bed’?” It means you don’t make your bed well.

-          Andrew: “What was wrong with that guy?”

Lynette: “He kept asking me what we do with the food people don’t eat.”

-          Gabrielle: “Half the fun? If I ever do say yes, you’re gonna adjust that percentage way down.” You definitely will.

-          Edie: “I’ve had more thrills leaning up against a dryer.” Best line of the night.

-          Edie: “I’m hot. You’re hot. On paper, we should be having great sex.”

-          Lynette (to Tom): “You wanna have sex, but you’re immobile.”

-          Edie: “Oo. I love limo sex. Town car or stretch?”

Gabrielle: “Well stretch of course. I’m not a complete slut.” This one was great too.

Some Final Notes

-          I was in tears when I saw Carlos and Edie in the clinic all bruised up. That was a great moment.

-          Edie has taught Travers when and how to bring her beer.

-          Susan stayed longer at the market because she was stocking up on free cheese.

-          Ian looked pathetic when Mike was dragging him to the shore. I really felt bad. Mike was having the time of his life though. Susan was just ecstatic he saved her cheese.

-          I laughed when Gabrielle was reading a magazine during the rally.

-          I loved Edie and Gabrielle talking about limo sex.

-          Susan gave Mike a juicer as a thank-you gift.

-          Victor said he loved Gabby.

-          What’s up with Mrs. McCluskey’s dead husband?

Excellent episode. 5 stars
