I don’t know what’s happened to Lost lately. It has just snapped into gear. The middle of the season got a bit slow, but I can’t say the
same thing here. This episode definitely set up a finale that I know we’re all going to enjoy. Can you feel the excitement?
Also, who does that boat belong to?
This episode felt very much like last season’s Exodus, Part 1. You got this vibe at the end of the episode that was just telling you that the season finale is
going to knock you off your chair. I’m sure of it. Firstly, it seems our characters are going to be on a psycho adventure
like last year’s dynamite/Black rock classic. Secondly, it seems like some conflict is going to emerge between Sayid
and Michael. The show works best when the characters are against each other. It might
not make us happy for them, but we love it. Thirdly, in some case, we have no idea what’s going to happen? What’s
up with Locke? Where was he going at the end of the episode? I LOVE THIS SHOW!
Was Michael right to do what he did? Of course not. This
whole problem would have been solved if Michael had gone to Jack and told him the truth. What you don’t think? He’s
now willing to hand over all his friends to the psycho Others just so he can get his boy back? It sounds about right. Walt
seems like he’s doing okay though. Why would he do this now? I don’t know what I would do in this situation. This
is very tough.
What’s up with that list that they gave him? Why do
they want Jack, Sawyer, Kate and Hurley? My first guess was because they are the powerhouses of the Losties. But then why is Hurley there? He’s loved, but he’s not management. I would have thought they
would have wanted Locke. Isn’t that what Henry said? Locke is one of the good ones. Why wasn’t the only really
good one except Hurley not on this list? It doesn’t make sense. Nothing makes
sense to me though.
What exactly did Miss Klugh do to Walt? If she did anything
bad, I’m adding her to my list. Please, like you have a list. I hate her.
How dare she use Walt against Michael? Walt had some interesting information for us though. He says the Others aren’t
exactly what they appear to be. What does that mean? Does that have something to do with the costumes that Kate found? He
also says they have been doing tests on him all this time. As soon as he started revealing too much, Miss Klugh threatened
to lock him up in “the room” again. I felt like telling her to shut up. Who does she think she is? She has an
agreement with Michael. They’re going to give him Walt and a boat; he’s going to give him the troops.
Sayid has caught on. I’m glad he’s onto Michael
because Jack missed this by a mile. I would have thought him to have caught on to this little game. I thought Sawyer was right
to give a gun to Sayid. He’s underused and he’s been in a freakin’ war. He knows exactly what to do. He’s
not going to take this rejection sitting down.
Ana Lucia and Libby have been buried. I just wanted to walk
into the tv and hug Hurley. I loved Libby and I loved Ana Lucia and I understand what he must be feeling. Remember how many
times he said that Libby was he first woman who has ever loved him. He lost his best friend on the island. Michael has created
a monster though and I’m really scared. Hurley looked angry at the funeral. He told him that he’s definitely on
the team. He’s going after the Others. I hope he doesn’t become some psycho killer though. That will be very unHurley.
I couldn’t believe the conversation that Sawyer had
with Jack. He actually told him that he slept with her. Actually, “slept with
her” is an understatement. The operative word is “went wild with her.” I didn’t understand why
he told Jack though. Is he really the closest thing he’s ever had to a friend? Jack looked so honoured. Did Sawyer really
have a thing for Ana Lucia? I don’t know. I just know that he’s been hurt by her death.
Spotlight on…Michael
-
13
days ago: Michael takes the gun and bullets from the armoury.
He speaks to Walt from on the computer. He tells him to go North and notice a big role with a hole in the middle.
-
13
days ago: The Others catch Michael when he tries taking one
hostage. He’s taken and covered.
-
13
days ago: Michael is uncovered. It’s pitch black outside.
Michael spits on Zeke. At that moment, they bring Kate in. She has been following Jack, Locke and Sawyer. Zeke threatens Michael
to not say anything that will make Kate know that he’s here. They take Kate out and Alex, the teenage girl who helped
Claire escape, asks Michael if she’s ok.
-
11
days ago: The Others bring Michael to their camp. They all
live in tents and tepees. Everyone watches as Michael passes by. They take some of his blood. They woman comes to speak to
him: Miss Klugh. She asks him some questions. He can’t answer. She says she doesn’t know anything about his son.
-
3 day
ago: Michael asks Miss Klugh when they’re gonna kill
him. She tells him she wants to get one of her people back from his camp. If he does that, he’ll get Walt back. He says
he wants to speak to him now. She brings him in. He says they have been doing tests on him. They aren’t who they pretend
do be. They drag Walt out and Miss Klugh gives him a list of people to bring back with him: Jack, Kate, Sawyer and Hurley.
Tales from the Island
Michael: I’ve got
to get my son back. It’s got to be my way. I just can’t believe I’ve gotten this far. I killed Ana Lucia.
I killed Libby. I stood over their graves. I shouldn’t have done that. How else was Walt going to get back though? What
else could I have done? Now, Sawyer tried bringing Sayid with us. Miss Klugh was very specific. She only wanted us five to
go. I can’t bring Sayid. I’m not going to hurt more people than I already will. It’s going to be too much.
All this has to be done my way though. I think Jack understands that. I don’t think everyone else does.
Quotable Quotes
-
Eko: “But the boy didn’t care
about forgiveness. He was only afraid that if he did go to Hell, that dog would be waiting for him.” That was a scary
story.
-
Zeke (after
getting spit on): “Not gonna hold that against you. Fair’s fair. I took your boy.” You sure did.
-
Sawyer: “And here I was thinking the
Irish drink when somebody dies.”
Jack: “I’m
not Irish.”
Sawyer: “Neither
am I.”
-
Sawyer: “Well even though Pippi Longstocking
and the damned Grape Ape are ideal candidates for the Dirty Dozen, we might wanna
bring the Red Beret.”
-
Charlie (to
Eko): “You’re moving in here? You fancy yourself a bachelor’s pad.”
-
Sawyer: “I figured if we’re going
to war, we’d want the one guy who’s been in a war.”
-
Klugh: “Did Walt ever appear in a place
he wasn’t supposed to be?”
-
Klugh: “For someone who wants his son
back so badly, you don’t see to know much about him.” Shut up.
-
Charlie (after
Vincent brings him a statue): “Are you kidding me?”
-
Jack: “Why are you telling me this Sawyer?”
Sawyer: “‘Cause
you’re the closest thing I’ve had to a friend. And because she’s gone.’”
Klugh: “You
have three minutes.” Shut up.
-
Sayid: “I think Michael has been compromised.”
You bet he has.
Some Final Notes
-
Michael burned the piece of paper that had
the list on it in the beginning of the episode Do you think he can remember who he has to bring?
-
I loved when everyone is fighting in the hatch
about what to do next and Hurley just yells out, “They’re dead.” Great moment.
-
It was so weird when Michael asked Eko about
Hell. Eko’s story was even weirder. A boy asked him if he was going to go to Hell for beating his dog to death after
the latter bit his sister on the cheek. The boy wasn’t interested in forgiveness though; he was scared of the dog in
Hell.
-
Aaron smiled when he saw Charlie. It seems
Charlie’s back on the right track again. He threw all the Virgin Mary statues in the ocean. I’m really proud.
Claire might have forgiven him too. She wanted to hold his hand.
-
Where did Charlie find the vaccine? I didn’t
catch that.
-
I’m glad they showed the Others’
version of the episode, The Hunting Party.
-
Jack told Sawyer about how he was caught in
a net with Kate in the jungle. Sawyer took it the wrong way of course.
-
Michael was sitting with Vincent before he
left. What’s going to happen to the dog?
-
Eko says he’s going to mourn Libby and
Ana Lucia in his own way.
-
Why did Locke walk away during the funeral?
He’s able to walk now. Where is he going?
-
Who does the boat belong to?
Loved this episode. 5 stars
