I love Christmas. I love Christmas episodes. Every show should
have one Christmas episode throughout the series. It puts you in the mood. It makes you feel cozy. Winter break is coming.
Gifts are coming. And of course, the writers of Veronica Mars put their own twist on things. It was a Neptune Christmas with
sex, lies, and secrets. It was a perfect way to rev up for my favourite holiday.
We had two great mysteries in one great hour. I found the
poker game to be very interesting. I wasn’t excited over the mystery part of the storyline, but excited over the conversations
that were taking place. Weevil is somewhere where he doesn’t belong. The 09ers are with someone that shouldn’t
be there. Of course Weevil was going to win and of course the money would disappear. He’s been through so much and he
wants more. I don’t know if Weevil was excited about winning the money, or taking it off Logan. They have a strange relationship.
Are they friends? Are they enemies? Do they find it convenient to talk? I don’t know, but I’d like to see more
of this. Add Veronica in the mix and you’ve got great tv. When I first saw the episode, I bought the fact that Sean
was rich. He acted like he was. He was a spoiled money-flowing-from-his-pockets jerk. I hate that combination and I’m
glad Veronica nailed him. I never thought it to be Logan or Duncan. Logan’s scum
but he’s not that bad. Duncan was drunk (until we found out otherwise). They are not that cheap. Connor,
the big movie star, seemed very nice. He was defending Weevil. First 09er to do that.
Our second featured mystery of the week was the stalker stalking
Aaron Echolls. Can I describe it better that that? I see where Logan inherits his dishonest attitude.
He was cheating on his wife with three different women at one Halloween party. How do you live with yourself? I have such a guilty conscience. Anyways, I won’t bore you
with the details. Lynn Echolls seems to be a decent person. We’ve already learnt that she’s an alcoholic,
but she seems faithful. She’s possibly a gold digger, but I can’t imagine how she wasn’t famous herself.
She didn’t even wait for her husband. She went to Keith immediately when she suspected something. She seems to care.
Keith discovers that her husband slept with three different women. One of these women turned out to be the stalker. What a
surprise!
The best scene of the night though had to have been when
Veronica confronted Jake Kane. Brilliant. Is it even a surprise that Celeste was behind this? She’s a snake. Jake seems
like a good guy. Had she figured out what Veronica learnt? Did she think that Veronica was Jake’s daughter? Did she
take the pictures to drive Lianne away so the secret could be kept hidden? I hate Celeste.
The Lilly Kane Files
-
Jake had no idea Veronica had been targeted.
He confronts Celeste (He knows it’s her).
Quotable Quotes
-
Veronica: “Downside to being an only
child, you know that all the scary hand-made ornaments are yours.” It’s so true.
-
Veronica: “You know there are some people
who believe that Christmas is about the birth of Christ and not baseball.”
-
Veronica: “Just be glad I don’t
flip my hair or I’d own you.” Loved this one.
-
Logan: “If you’re asking me to the prom again, it’s still no.”
He’s so sarcastic.
-
Logan: “Do you want your best friend charm back?” I cracked up.
- Logan: “No, Veronica. V like virgin.”
Laughed even more.
-
Logan: “Do you know how to play poker?”
Veronica: “No,
but it must be really hard if all of you guys play.”
-
Logan: “Annoy, tiny blonde one. Annoy like the wind.” Loved
it.
-
Weevil: “Seriously. Don't
I just blend right in? Where's Weevil?” Loved this one even more.
Some Final Notes
-
Logan must have once been a good guy. Duncan is beginning
to see the transformation. Why it took him so long to notice is beyond me.
-
Look at the difference from an Echolls Christmas
and a Mars Christmas.
-
Weevil stood in awe as he stared at the food.
-
Where did Veronica learn all those cool Poker
moves?
-
In real life, Lisa Rinna (Lynn Echolls) and Harry Hamlin (Aaron Echolls) are married.
I just loved the episode.
It was just a load of fun. It felt like Christmas. I definitely need help. 5 out of
5 stars.
