This show is getting better and better. To tell you the truth,
I’m not ready for this season to end. It’s been non-stop-in-your-face television. As I’ve stated before,
Veronica Mars is great at having multiple storylines. They all get the time they
deserve and the plot never gets old. The dog kidnappings were great to watch as they truly affected a decent person (I don’t
like dog kidnappings!). The Echolls storyline begins to take better shape as we have an Aaron massacre. To top it all off,
Weevil is arrested for breaking into the Kane household. And there’s much more.
Let’s start piece by piece. The dog kidnappings were
a great element of the episode. It must have somehow affected Veronica for she knows how great an attachment to man’s
best friend can be. She has a dog of her own and we occasionally see some sort of bonding between Veronica and her dog. They listen and can’t even talk. I really liked Mandy. I have a soft spot for
those types of girls. They are genuinely nice people who are misunderstood. I hate when students make fun of other students.
I’m glad Veronica was there to set Lenny straight. She’s such a good friend to have. Mandy gets intimidated and
acts like the perfect prey. She can’t stand up for herself. I was absolutely gratified when Veronica publicly humiliated
Lenny and then scolded Mandy for not standing up for herself. In the end, Mandy attacked Hans (dog snatcher) with Veronica’s
taser then I felt even more gratified. I cracked a smile when she found Chester. Her smile was priceless. As disgusting as the plan was, it was a clever one. Stealing dogs from
the 09ers would guarantee some cash. That’s just evil.
Speaking of evil, Aaron beat Trina’s boyfriend in his
backyard. He saw that Trina had been beaten and he returned him the favour. Aaron is a maniac. As much as I don’t condone
violence, I was happy that he punched the living daylights out of Dylan (the sleazy producer). I was scared when he was holding
the knife in his hands. I thought he would whip it at him. You don’t know what to expect from him. And what was Trina’s
problem? Did she really care for Dylan? She takes after her father. They’re both freaks. I liked how Logan became a concerned brother when he involved Veronica. He felt for his sister. She was really beat up. I’m
glad Aaron got to him first though. We even learnt that Aaron was abused as a child. His father would beat him and his mom.
If he knew the pain it caused, why would he abuse Logan? Did those childhood years develop some sort of chaotic behavior? Does he feel
the need to beat people?
What’s up with Weevil? There was something in that
pen and Veronica wants to find that note. Is Weevil that blind to believe that Lilly really loved him? Give me a break. Veronica got him out of prison. I wonder how many times he’ll be seeing the inside
of those cells. Like Veronica said, her jail-free cards are running out and if Weevil was somehow connected to Lilly’s
death, you can bet she’ll no longer run to Weevil for help.
There was a lot of romance in this episode. Alicia and Keith
have started making out and Wallace is an eye witness. Can you imagine if Veronica and Wallace were actual siblings? That
would be fun. Then, Veronica and Logan made out for a few seconds. They will soon become an item. The last thing Veronica
wants is to get involved with an 09er. She doesn’t want in. Could this just be a phase? I find Logan’s getting too nice. I miss the old jackass attitude. He’s better off this way.
The Lilly Kane Files
-
Weevil broke in the Kane household and stole
Lilly’s favorite pen. There was a message inside that he needed.
-
Duncan is still missing.
Quotable Quotes
-
Keith: “Honey, do I need to recap my
concerned-dad lectures? No running with scissors, no candy from strangers, no smartening up the local criminal element.”
Weevil’s got such a bad reputation.
-
Veronica: “Dad usually likes to have
a guy to dinner at least once before he cuffs me.”
-
Leo: “What is it about bad boys?”
Veronica: “Tattoos,
leather, parole violations. Total good-girl bait.”
-
Logan: “Push in on our hero. Natural light frames his handsome, weathered face
as he passes sage advice to his doting daughter. The music swells. Important, your family is.” I love the sarcasm.
-
Trina: “Pop-tart?”
Logan: “Tart from a tart?”
-
Veronica: “No discussing parental PDA
at lunch. It’s your rule.”
-
Veronica: “Sure. Let’s play dirty
charades with the gringa.”
-
Veronica: “So there's
a dog man who hires these guys to return dogs. He drives a white van, or maybe a white horse, and he likes to spank busty
women. Basically, that's any male living in Neptune.”
Some Final Notes
-
I forgot to mention the Celeste/Veronica encounter.
I’m glad Veronica stood up to Celeste, but just when things were going to get juicy, Keith came in. Too bad. I was looking
for some trash talk.
-
Keith sent in his and Veronica’s DNA
samples.
-
Duncan is still missing.
-
Lynn gave everything to Logan. Trina was never
in her will. I was so happy.
-
We say Lilly. She was with Veronica talking
about her secret pen.
Great episode. I hope I
covered everything. 5 stars
