I Am God
Episode 2.18

I love this type of episode. I love the dark and twisty element of the story. I love when our main character is being haunted and losing her mind. I love when the whole story still remains a mystery. There were a lot of details given to us. We learnt a lot of new things. We also got to see every student on the bus. Meg returned which is always a treat. Very good episode.

The bus crash story has become even more convoluted than I thought. Finally, the writers gave us a bit on each character. Betina, Dick’s booty buddy, was playing a recording of Dick being an ass. She was only interested in getting knocked up so she can tell the world. Dick wanted no such thing. He was told she was on the pill. She wasn’t. At least she didn’t get pregnant. That would have been awful and depressing.

Rhonda was a PWT (pure white trash). Her sister and she would constantly steal and commit petty crimes. But Woody Goodman paid the family two mil because of a finger in her ribwich. I would freak if that happened to me. Now, her sister is living off the two million and still acting like pure trash. Go figure.

Peter, the gay poster on Pirate Ship, had a thing for Mr. Wu, the science teacher. He was going to come out with him and make it the “outing of all outings.” That didn’t work out. Mr. Wu is not exactly gay. He said even though some men are well-dressed, they could just be Chinese. Nicely said.

Meg’s horrific parents came back into the mix by wanting to set up the janitor Lucky with Meg. He had gone to Iraq and had gotten shot in the behind. In her dream, Veronica is being yelled at by Meg for looking at her personal computer and letters. I don’t like the way they’ve been treating her character.

I liked Wallace and Logan working. Wallace definitely doesn’t approve with many of Veronica’s choices. He doesn’t like Logan and he makes it clear. But after they start hanging out, he realizes that Logan still cares for Veronica. He was trying to win the competition for Veronica so she could get ahead of Angie Dahl. That was nice. Wallace catches on and asks Veronica to cut Logan some slack every so often. Veronica, of course, is confused and refuses to do so.

Keith did some digging for Clemmons so he could get to the bottom of the “anxiety” issues. People like Angie use this to their advantage and have to ask for extensions. Keith tracks down their therapist and gets everything fixed. I thought he was rekindling his love with Miss James. I still think they belong together.

The Bus Crash Files

-          Betina was Dick’s booty buddy. She was playing a recording of Dick being an ass. She was entertaining everyone on the bus.

-          Rhonda, with her sister, would commit petty crimes. She was often in the principal’s office.

-          Woody Goodman paid Rhonda’s family two mil because she found a finger in her ribwich.

-          Peter wanted to come out with Mr. Wu. He called it the “outing of all outings.”

-          Cervando had a conflict with Cassidy when Dick ruined his jeans. Cervando wanted Cassidy to replace them.

-          Dick Sr. has a life insurance policy on Dick and Cassidy. They are worth more dead than alive.

-          If the killer wanted to kill everyone, he would have to be watching to know when the bus would be approaching the cliff. This can possibly implicate Weevil.

Quotable Quotes

-          Ms. James: “Anything you want to talk about?”

Veronica: “Yeah, but Jennifer Love Hewitt would be more qualified.”

-          Veronica: “I’m a little punchy; I haven't been sleeping.”
Logan: “Thoughts of me? Hey, I get it. Um, sometimes I'm up all night just thinking about myself.”

-          Dick: “It's not me. It's Wu.”

-          Meg: “In Veronicaland, no pulse, no privacy.”

-          Veronica (kicking Logan): “Yeah, I don’t know what compelled me to do that.”

Logan: “Because you’re five.”

-          Mr. Wu: “Veronica, I think when you get out in the world a little more, you'll discover that not all well-dressed, articulate detail-oriented men are gay. Many of them are just Asian.”

-          Logan: “You don’t like me much.”

Wallace: “The last time we talked, you bashed Veronica’s headlights with a crowbar.”

Logan: “Foreplay.”

-          Betina's friend: “Dick Casablancas is the bastard child of Satan.”
Veronica: “Well, that would explain a lot.”

Some Final Notes

-          Veronica made reference to Jennifer Love Hewitt’s Ghost Whisperer. She whispers to ghosts.

-          It was nice to see Ms. James again.

-          Veronica got accepted to Stanford. She can’t go to Stanford though because people like Angie are cheaters.

-          What’s going on with Terrence?

-          Keith found Veronica in Clemmons’ closet. That had to happen.

-          Am I the only one who still believes Logan and Veronica should be together? The writers keep teasing us. If it’s going to happen, I want it now.

-          I was let down by the fact that “I Am God” is a song title. That was anticlimactic.

Very good. 4 stars
