Green-Eyed Monster
Episode 2.4

Money matters. We know it…and we want it. I just love it when Veronica Mars shows us our faults. I love when we learn a lesson or two. This week’s episode was good. Not the best. Like usual, I want more answers about the season-long mystery. We are getting some nice stuff from the Alicia/Cher storyline. Also, Ducan has some dirty laundry to share with all of us.

Julie really surprised me. She was introduced as a rich woman who was hiding her wealth so she can make sure her boyfriend lover her. It turns out that she stayed with him because he has a very large trust fund. Veronica learned that Julie never really loved Colin. She wanted his money. Colin, in turn, never knew she had money. In fact, the one search he did on the family was done two weeks after he had bought a ring. He was faithful when Veronica tried seducing him. I want to get seduced. It must be so cool standing in for Russell Crowe in his house. I also want that house.

I don’t know how I feel about Duncan visiting Meg every day at the hospital. That’s a very nice gesture, but it seems weird. He is dating Veronica. I can understand how important Meg was to him, but he is with Veronica. What’s up with her parents though? Duncan didn’t do anything wrong. Meg was offered a spot on the limo. Not to mention the fact that Veronica tried apologizing a million times. Duncan nor Veronica are to blame. I’m glad Lizzie came running to Duncan to help out with Meg’s computer. Lizzie knew Meg had a second computer and she knew all her personal stuff was on that hard drive. Lizzie was stunned when she saw Veronica in the room. Veronica brought in Mac to save the day. That made my day.

We’ve got some major dirty laundry that has been kept under wraps. Alicia has a shady past in Chicago. The big cop that’s following her is named Nathan Woods and he is Wallace’s father. I don’t know about you, but this seems forced to me. I know a lot of us have asked for more Wallace, but this is not the way to do it. Ok? Everyone Keith gets involved with turns out to be a letdown. She lied to him. She told him she was dating him twenty years ago, but she did have the time to get knocked up during that time. I might have to start losing respect for Alicia. Why? Why? Why? I also had a problem with Keith going through her personal paperwork. Who gave him the right to go through her paperwork? It serves him right that he looked like a fool in front of Lamb. That’s hard to do. Nathan Woods is a successful cop in Chicago. Was he following Alicia? Does he just want his kids back?

Speaking of Wallace, why is he staying with Jackie? She said it outright: she is dating him because he is a star basketball player. I didn’t think Wallace was that desperate. Jackie is also getting on my nerves. She actually thinks she can match Veronica. I hope Jackie burns Veronica. That would give Veronica a reason to burn Jackie. I want it.

It seems as if Weevil might be involved with the bus crash as well. Veronica thinks the earring in Lamb’s evidence bag belongs to Weevil. He doesn’t deny it. He also says that the Fitzpatricks hired Moran to kill Cervando. Weevil doesn’t think Moran would kill a bus-load of kids just to get back at Cervando. We also learnt that a phone call was made from Logan’s house to Weevil’s cell phone. Logan was hosting a party that night and the PCHers crashed it. I’m guessing it was one of the PCHers that gave Weevil a call. That’s my guess. It’s not worth that much though.

The Bus Crash Files

-          The earring found at the last place Moran was seen alive belongs to Weevil.

-          Curly was hired by the Fitzpatricks to kill Cervando, the PCHer killed in the bus crash.

-          A phone call was made from the Echolls’ home to Weevil’s cell phone. The phone call happened during Logan’s party. The PCHers had crashed it.

Quotable Quotes

-          Keith: “A man dreams his whole life for a beautiful woman to bring him a sandwich.”

-          Keith: “The next time I shoot you, it won't be digitally. Unless I hit you in the finger. Then we'll have a big laugh about it.”

-          Veronica: “What is it with men? Never where you expect them to be.”

-          Julie: “What’s after silver?”

Veronica: “Psycho.”

-          Sheriff: “Who let you in my office?”

Keith: “That’s funny. I was wondering the same thing.”

-          Weevil: “If I know I’m being brought in, I’ll put on my good underwear.”

Veronica: “You should do that anyway.”

-          Wallace: “Do you own those clothes or did you get them from ‘Dirty Co-ed R Us’.”

-          Duncan: “Yes to costumes. No to props.”

-          Veronica: “Do you leave heroine when Iggi Pop spends the night?”

-          Julie: “I need to stand in traffic for awhile.” You do that.

-          Logan: “My day is complete. Veronica Mars has just accused me of evil.”

Some Final Notes

-          I’m glad Veronica is back in the office. Keith realized he needs the help and she needs the money. Julie was going to pay two thousand dollars. I would jump at that money.

-          Meg’s parents are retarded. Are we sure Meg is their daughter?

-          I laughed when Veronica pounced for Julie.

-          How much of a surprise was it when Colin was with the rabbi? He really did love her. He was becoming Jewish for her.

-          The scenes where Veronica tries to seduce Colin are classic. How would Keith feel if he saw his daughter in a mini-skirt acting all…seducing? Colin didn’t go for her at all.

-          I liked the fact that Veronica used Wallace to sell “candies” at Colin’s front door. He was a great distraction.

-          Veronica is finally maturing. I’m glad she didn’t take the files of Duncan’s coffee table.

This wasn’t bad. 3 stars
