Ahoy, Mateys!
Episode 2.8

Honestly, if Duncan is going to be ignoring Veronica, then I want their relationship to end. When has Duncan ever saved Veronica? How many times has Logan saved Veronica? There’s obviously more going on concerning Meg and that confidential letter Duncan found has something to do with it. I don’t want to hear about Meg though, I want her back.

That opening scene was weird. I loved it. Duncan obviously sees Meg as the virtuous all-loving angel from Heaven and Veronica as the evil sinning demon from Hell. That’s a bit harsh, but that’s what he thinks. This is why I have a problem with Duncan. He can’t see a good thing when he sees it. Although I love Meg, she is too subtle for him. Veronica is the kind of woman he should be with. Then what’s his problem? Also, he had to go back into his depressive mood with irritates me. We got a lot of it last year and this year it just gets aggravating. I think it’s time Duncan got hit by a car or something. I know that’s sadistic, but I can’t stand him anymore.

I hate watching people just be plain despicable. Mr. Oliveres turned out to be a sad example of human life when he forced his son to go to a sexual reorientation camp called Camp Selfquest. Why these camps are still legal is beyond me? How can a father ever be ashamed of his son because he was gay? That’s just terrible. So his father might not enjoy watching him cuddle with his “boyfriend.” Big idea. I’m straight and I might not have enjoyed watching my son cuddle with his boyfriend, but I wouldn’t try and change who he is. He furthermore planted evidence to win the case against Neptune High. He made sure there was a bus in his aquarium and he left a note in his trashcan with the number of his alarm code on it. This came from a stationary belonging to the school’s lawyers. That’s a terrible waste of human life.

The episode was a lot about Logan and I kind of want his storyline to get a bit of a push. I liked the idea of his getting kidnapped by the PCHers and almost emasculated. I also liked the idea of him figuring out that Weevil was behind it. Now I want some answers. I’m serious. Did he really kill Felix? The writers also threw an interesting curve ball. Cervando was mentioned during the bridge flashback. Are the two crimes related somehow? I want answers.

We finally met the psycho Fitzpatricks and they are scary. Remind me again why Veronica decided to follow Danny Boyd to the “River Stix.” She doesn’t have her head screwed on right does she? No she doesn’t. The Fitzpatricks are Neptune’s first crime family. They don’t seem very…controlling. They are scary and drunk, but not controlling. Why did they get angry when they learnt Veronica was Keith’s daughter? What did Keith ever do to them?

Lastly, Weevil is on his lovely way out. He is no longer in control of the group and it’s time to start worrying. His gang is without a doubt selling coke behind his back and there’s no way for him to stop it. A few of his guys are looking pretty suspicious so I’ve got my own ideas. Now, Weevil has to deal with a really pissed-off Logan. He burnt his house down and he tried to destroy the one thing he loves the most. Weevil, be careful.

The Bus Crash Files

-          No significant addition. One of the victims of the crash, Marcos Oliveres had a radio show every week that poked fun on just about everyone. Someone might have gotten a bit angry about this.

Quotable Quotes

-          Veronica: “Oh, you’re being a jackass. There must be an even number of days. I do so prefer the odd number of days when you’re kissing my ass for a favour.”

-          Logan: “I’ve had a very bad year.” Ya think?

-          Veronica (to Logan): “Given your situation, I think you should move out of Neptune.”

-          Veronica (to Keith): “Why must you make the tech support cry?” We all do.

-          Veronica: “Excellent work as usual, Q.”
Mac: “Right back at you, Mr Bond.”

-          Weevil: “Is it done?”
Logan: “Oh it's just getting started, Weevs. You have no idea the hell you have just brought on yourself.” Run Weevs, run!

-          Logan: “Hey, if you could exonerate me sometime soon that'd be great. I really don't want bottom bunk in Fisty McRapesalot's cell.”
Veronica: “If you want a top, I'm sure it's negotiable.”
Logan: “Help me Mars-Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope.”

-          Logan: “Hey. Any news on Nip/Schmuck?”

-          Mac: “It's not all crotch-grabbing, scatological man humor. There's a little something for everyone.”
Veronica: “Flatulent sound effects for me?”

Some Final Notes

-          Liam Fitzpatrick got very violent with Veronica. I wanted her to use the taser a second time.

-          It was fitting for Veronica to break down in Logan’s car after she saw his gun. That proves to me that she still loves him.

-          We finally met the principal, Mr. Moorehead. Why does his office look so much nicer than Clemmons’? Is it because he’s the principal?

-          Marcos and Butters are Captain Krunks and Imitation Crab respectively and host the radio show, “Ahoy, Mateys!”

-          Mac was back. Is it just me or is she one of the best characters on the show? Veronica used her to get into Butters’ house.

-          Keith catching Mr. Oliveres’ neighbor in his house was hysterical. The guy just wanted some beer.

-          Wallace replied to Veronica’s e-mails saying he wasn’t ready to speak to her yet. That was rude.

-          Dr. Griffith was working for the Fitzpatricks.

-          Ryan turned out to be the harasser. He was Marcos’s boyfriend.

-          What’s the letter about? Who is Chris Talley?

Very good. 4 stars.
