Mars, Bars
Episode 3.14

Ok. You see now, if the CW doesn’t renew this show, I will die. I am not kidding. Unbefreakinlievable. This show is definitely back and just louder than ever. Someone unfortunately died while another took his position back as Sheriff. Care to take any guesses? Anyway, the episode just rocked. That’s all there is to it.

A lot of people have been saying that they finally care about the dean’s death and I admit it myself. I am interested. What I’m enjoying is the major focus on the dean’s death. I was complaining about the lack of depth into the rape mysteries, but this mystery is just on a roll. So many suspects with so little time to prove who did it. That’s usually what a mystery is all about.

Approaching the end of the mystery, I honestly think that Professor Landry is the killer even though it seems too obvious. Mindy’s car was found back at the parking lot by the time of the murder which was now pushed back to 3:30 because all programming on channel 7 was pushed back an hour because of a baseball game. How does Veronica realize all these things? I would be the worst PI ever. But things are really starting to heat up. We now really have to include Steve Batando on our suspect list because we know for fact that he’s a psycho…and a killer.

Yes, the Sheriff is gonzo. Sheriff Lamb, it was nice knowing ya. But I do have to admit that his ending scene was really great…and surprising. He first made me laugh when he shot the mirror thinking his reflection was Batando. I just had to say, “what a moron.” But then when he gets hit by a bat several times by the psycho, I really felt bad. But I’m glad his death wasn’t a cliché death. The normal gun shot death wasn’t used; he was killed by a swinging bat. That was just a gruesome scene.

And I should have seen it coming. Keith became our sheriff again. Talk about a great twist. I’m just trying to imagine the possibilities this new plotline will bring to the show. I’m still trying to wrap my arms around it. Keith is in charge of everything again. He’s the main Honcho again. For now, he’s going to use his resources to find Cyrus O’Dell’s murderer. Now you definitely know he’s going to go after Hank Landry and I’m looking forward to it. He has really pissed me off. Just because he’s written a few criminology books. He thinks he owns the world. Sorry I’m just blowing off some steam.

I also really loved the Valentine’s Day scavenger hunt. Actually, this was my favourite part of the episode. This time around, all the friends were hanging out…without Veronica. She really needs to talk more with them. What a fun thing to do though. I absolutely loved Logan and Parker having to act out positions from the Kama Sutra. Hysterical stuff. Then, I nearly died laughing when Mac had to buy Super Trojans. I think this was a classic VMars moment.

And for one on the show, the friends are doing something without Veronica. Logan seems to have taken an interested in Parker and vice versa. Why not? I just realized how much I like them together. Both of them are wild and this new Logan fits great with Parker. Then, Mac had a bit of a hormonal attack when she grabs Bronson and just throws him in her bed. The Mac Attack isn’t the once computer geek who wanted to have sex; she’s the one having sex. And personally, I love the idea that she’s back to her old self. Cassidy killing himself was a huge blow to her and it’s great to see her finally healing from that.

The Dean O’Dell Murder Files

-          The dean called for a refill for his prescription of Xanax. Mindy took some of his pills because she was anxious.

-          The dean wasn’t murdered at 2:30. He was murdered at 3:30. Channel 9 had backed up all its programming for an hour. At that time, Mindy’s car had already returned to the hotel garage.

-          Steve Batando’s prints were found on the dean’s computer.

Quotable Quotes

-          Keith: “Can I get you anything?”

Veronica: “A couple of picks and snakes.”

-          Keith: “I need to see the sheriff.”

Sacks: “He looks busy.”

Keith: “This I gotta see.” I feel bad making fun of a dead man.

-          Logan: “No holiday decorating, huh?”

Veronica: “I’m here because I want to miss Valentine’s Day.”

-          Wallace (to Lamb): “He says you’re the only sheriff in America who’s friends with Dorothy.”

-          Logan (about buying Super Trojans): “It’s a curse.”

-          Sheriff Lamb (to V and Keith): “You two kids are up early. You didn’t just spend a late shift taking dirty pics at the Camelot.”

-          Bronson: “This is what you meant by ‘crash.’”

Mac: “I meant ‘bang.’”

Some Final Notes

-          I loved Veronica playing badass in jail. She had the tattoo and the t-shirt going on.

-          Josh used his allergy of peanuts to get out. Sneaky.

-          Vincent said he had the same ethical code as Keith. Then he followed with a “Not.” Obviously.

-          Landry said Veronica had too much potential. He said she shouldn’t be slumming in a PI office.

-          I loved Veronica saying “I do. I do.” when she was being released from her cell.

-          Josh freaked me out when he kidnapped Mason. He needs to relax.

-          So Coach Barry arranged his whole death so his wife could get all the benefits. That’s very nice.

-          He was dying of some disease. Didn’t catch the name. What a great thing to do for your wife.

-          The “Super Titans” scene was hysterical. A classic!

-          Was it Desperate Housewives that Veronica was going to watch: women having sex in suburbia? Yeah, sounds like it.

-          Parker just took off her clothes when she needed to. Love that girl.

-          Bronson and Mac sealed the deal. Good for them.

-          Lamb shot his reflection in the mirror. Sorry had to laugh.

-          Josh left for Mexico.

Loved it. 5 stars. VMars is back.
